SERGIO'S
It was an wonderful sunny day in Madrid. Everything was going as it usually
is. There was some traffic, kids going to school, parents going to work, just a
normal day as the other ones.
We all thought It was a normal day until an architect teacher was tired of
her students and she decided to go into the spanish parliament with all her
co-workers. Everyone of them was carrying an AK-47, they were about to make a
coup and the architect teacher was named by herself the new dictator of Spain. -Sergio Vara-
Her name was Marta and, though, she used to be a really kind person, until
an exam presented by one of his students drove her crazy. In order to
exterminate that horrendous student from Earth's surface, she got the best idea
ever. “Martism” was established in Spain. No sooner she became the new leading
figure of the dictatorship, she talked with Guardia Civil, and they searched
for her poor student in every corner of the world. Nicolás Bagur
I am Louis and I’m being persecuted by the Guardia Civil and I don't
even know why. I am a student at IES Beatriz Galindo and I have many teachers,
one in particular, Marta. Until a few months ago she was a normal
teacher, very nice, but lately she has been behaving in a very strange way with
me especially, and honestly I don't know why. Sometimes I think that I’m being
persecuted by the Guardia Civil because of Marta. Ana Baños
I have the impression that this has something to do with what happened
during the global exam of the 2nd term, as since that day she has not treated
me the same way. In that exam, for which I had not studied at all, I started
drawing a comic, whose protagonist, was a character very similar to Marta, as
soon as she saw this, the persecution started. Carlo Cabrera
Diary entry 1: Dear diary, or whatever people write in these things. I've
been hiding in a dumpster for three days. It's safe in here, at least safer
than it is outside. The Martist Guards (the Guardia Civil's new official name)
have not found me as of yet, but morale is low and I'm running out of expired Cheetos.
I might have to move to another dumpster. Anyway, I found a lizard! I named him
Garry. I found him on the street and brought him with me, hoping that he'd keep
me company. Alexa C.
Diary entry 2: Screw you diary, I’m literally driving crazy in here, Garry
has eaten the little can food i had left and i had no other choice than to eat
him, poor Garry we were already good friends, I used to tell him everything
that went through my mind, by the way. i'm running low on pens so in the next
pages i might take advantage of Garry’s blood. Stefan
Diary entry 3: This is probably my last entry on ink. One day has passed
since I have eaten for the last time, and more than one since I have drunk
something. I have no option rather than going out to search for something to
drink and eat. With a small knife that somebody threw to the bin and I found in
my dumpster, I made out two holes to see if the Martist Guards were somewhere
nearby. As I saw that the street is free from guards I lifted the lid and got
out. Ariana Espada
Diary entry 4: I ran out of ink and now I am writing this with Garry's
blood. When I got to the exterior, all I could see was warnings about a pandemy
that was taking place in here. It seemed pretty serious, as there was almost no
one on the streets. José Gálvez
Diary entry 5: I have not known any notice since i hided, why are the
streets alone? I don’t know what is happening, everything is so strange. Marta
keeps looking for me, I have seen an enormous poster with my face in the middle
of the city center, at least I picked up a can of asparagus and two bubble gum.
Also, i'm out of Garry’s blood, I hope to find something to write with. Hugo
Diary entry 6: I've been one week give or take in this dumpster, I don't
have food, I'm drinking my own pee, I didn't think it was that good, but I it
is not too hygienic. By the way I'm writing this diary with my droppings, as I
ran out of Garry's blood a few days before. It smells really bad in here.
I'm thinking of calling a friend who can get me out of the country, who knows,
maybe in another country they can help me to defeat this
"dicta-teacher". Pablo
Diary entry 7: Dear diary, I know I have you quite abandoned, but there has
been hard days, I even had time to look for something to write you. Now I am save,
I am in Pennsylvania, USA. Remember that friend I talked you about weeks ago?
well, he saved my life, he works on the black market and knows people who have
a lot of power, one of them, who owed him a favor, helped me escape from Spain,
took me on a merchandise ship to New Jersey and later by truck to here. It was
a long journey but I know it was wortheet, I am far from Martism and I can
start a new life in here.
What Louis did not know is that something worse than his teacher was
approaching. Isabel
Diary entry 8: I was not feeling well at all. The first days, I thought it
was because of tiredness, but within the past of the days, I realised it wasn’t
because of that. As I heard the day I went to the exterior to look for food
back in Spain, some big problem was taking place, something serious. Now that I
am safe, I can watch TV. When I was watching the news, I heard something about
a pandemy. It had taken me long enough for almost everyone in Spain to caught
the new virus and die. There were only 4503 humans left in Spain.
I felt safer when I knew that virus had not reached the States, it was the
only country which was not infected. However, I had read about the symptoms and
they were similar to what I have been suffering for the past few days. What if…?
By Sofía
Diary entry 9: I think one of this days I will never be able to write again
in here. I've been persecuted by people dressed up in white with protection all
over them as if they were going to attend someone with Ebola. I've been running
away for three days now but I think I'm not able to run away anymore. My body
is too weak as I've been having fever for the past days and my cough has been
getting worst. I think the next time they try to catch me I will just give
myself.By Moe
Diary entry 10: I’ve given up, I’m tired of running and escaping, as I have
been doing for about a month or two give or take. I’ve been taken to a hospital
by these people with the white suits, who turned out to be very nice guys, but
I assume they don’t like human contact because the are always keeping a meter
distance with me, very weird. Anyway, I’m starting to feel a lot better, I
tried to go for a stroll around the hospital, but, again, the guys in the white
suits chased and took me to my room, telling that I was bringing a very
dangerous virus from Spain and some other nonsense I didn’t pay attention to. By Pedro
Diary entry 11: I am tired of being in this room more than I thought I
would. Though I have a nice TV, food and wonderful pens, I can't live like
this. I have been informing myself for the past weeks about euthanasia. I know
it is extreme, but I am tired of boring games, series or films. I want some
action. I've also thought about spreading my whatisname virus. It would be cool
to see the world's reaction. But the white suits guys don't leave me a single
second alone. By Ana Pérez
Diary entry 12: Fourteen days have passed since the day I was admitted to
hospital, and, surprisingly, I have been discharged. I asked one of the doctors
why had most of my country died, and he told me that only 10,000 people had
died from Corinnavirus, named after its patient zero in Spain, the King’s
secret lover. Now I realised I was watching a fake news TV channel called TV3
when I tried to figure out what had happened. By Miguel de Perosanz
Diary entry 13: Ok, now, I know what had happened, those guys who were full
wear in white, are called Francisco Fronca and Antonio José Primo de Rivera,
two very good friends of Marta. When I was supposed to leave the hospital,
after talk with the doctor, I took my things and when I was in the door of the
hospital, I realized that they executed an estrategy called ‘The one of
Serresiete’, I don’t know yet why it is called like that. It consisted in while
I was sleeping because of the general anesthesia they repatriated me to Spain,
where Marta waited me. By Gonzalo
Diary entry 14: I do not know how or when I returned, but I appear to be
back in Spain. The Siarseven strategy worked, and now I was locked in a cage. I
asked the guys in charge why was I there, and when could I leave, the told me
the Supreme Commander would come soon enough, and that she would be the one to
explain me all this situation to me, in a pacific way. I, as the fool I am,
believe everything they said. By
Andrés
Diary entry 15: Marta finally came and started telling me about her
political method. She spent about four hours and I personally think it isn’t
that bad. It has to do with everyone getting to have a personal architect and
lots of houses. She also confessed that she had spread the virus herself to
make her system possible and give every spanish citizen that remained the life
they deserve.Manuel Ruiz
Diary entry 16: After listening to Marta for four hours I was really tired
so Marta told the Martist guards to take me to my new home, which, by the way,
was really beautiful. After a long night thinking about all the events that had
happened to me this past months, something wasn’t OK for me with Marta’s
political method, so I started investigating the house and you wouldn't
believe what I found. The house was full of hidden cameras and microphones. Elisa
Diary entry 17: Making use of the IT skills I learnt as a kid from my
father, who had worked as a spy for the CNI for years under the alias Little
Nick, I managed to trace the signal of the gadgets back to its user. Shocked, I
dropped my computer to the floor. We had got it all wrong all along. It was not
Marta the one behind the new system and the hell I had gone through. She was
only a puppet. Jacobo
Diary entry 18: some days have passed by since i wrote you the last time.
You will be asking yourself where are you living now? Well the true is that i
didn’t move from where i was, but i’ve been this past days trying to figure out
who is Marta working for, or at least who is she working with? and... why am i
that important in all this?. Yesterday i discovered what was all these about,
so we can say that i solved the puzzle. Laura
"This, is the diary of Louis," said Marta, "and he is about to discover that he just won Great Brother". Fame and success were waiting for me. Marta just wanted me to earn a lot of money and become famous do that I didn't need to be an architect because that would be horrible for her and the humanity. The problem is that I'm in jail because of having killed Garry. Pacma denounced me after seeing it written in that stupid diary. It's funny how things end sometimes, dot you think so? Javier
I have two comments on this story
ResponderEliminarFirst of all, I really like how the format derivated into diary entries which I reckon it is an innovative way of narrating the story. Moreover, is the only writing which has this shape, and ,as far as I am concerned, it is much more useful and it can be followed with more ease.
In addition to this, it came as a surprise to me the fact of how the narrative thread is forced to move around our current situation. I have noticed that in more than one and two stories, Coronavirus theme is mentioned when, perhaps, it was not the ideal moment.
Nonetheless, I have enjoyed how within only two paragraphs, the story has been reconducted and linked with the initial characters. By Nicolás Bagur
This story went out of the ordinary, it shows very well how teenagers(including myself) can make such rare and "funny" things.
ResponderEliminarI was the last one who had to write on this story, so I was tired before I had to read it. It surprised me how much I enjoyed reading it, whith all those diary entries which made it easier. Probably, this is my favourite story.
ResponderEliminarI like the fact that is written as a diary, it makes it more original than the other ones.
