PEDRO'S

Chicago, 1972. It was looking like another ordinary day for inspector Daniel James. He had performed his daily morning routine and he arrived at the police station as usual, little did he know what would happen next. As usual, he was called to the scene of a murder. As soon as he arrived, he realised this murder was different to any other he’d previously seen. Pedro Peñafiel

The body was lying on the floor, lifeless, perfectly covered in plastic wrap. Not blood was seen. Not a single bruise nor wound. The murderer did pay attention to the details as if it was an artwork. A sudden shiver ran through his body. Ana Pérez

The murder seemed impossible to solve. But, suddenly, Daniel found a possible cause, the conflict between two rival families dating back to the days of the Great Depression. The victim was a descendant of the Johannes family. The Johannes were the descendants of a long line of bankers, dating back to the Gilded Age, who, as thousands of Americans, went bankrupt in the Wall Street Crash of 1929. On the other hand, the Thompsons, were a rich Anglo-American family… Miguel de Perosanz

The Thompsons were well known for not just being a very rich and powerful family, but because one member of the family was a member of the ‘Crips’, yes, that gang that is extremely dangerous and aggressive and protect their members, so inspector Daniel James start to investigate from those facts. What Daniel found shocked him. The ‘Crips’ not only were a gang but a worldwide organization financed by several governments in order to persecute and kill communists. They were the ones in charge of the distribution of the guns that were being used in the current Vietnam War, making them completely untouchable. Andrés Rodríguez

He rushed his mind back to the crime scene and thought: but why, this woman has never been in a shooting or commited a crime of no type. She was a housewife who hadn't hurt a fly in her life with two kids and a normal husband with a good job. So he kept wondering, what must have caused the assassination of this beautiful woman. 

The inspector kept investigating, little did he know what was going to happen next…  As the days were passing by, he realised that he had to return to the starting point,  because some pieces were missing, so he went to the crime scene, where two cops were supposed to control that no one enter there. When he got there he found the bodies of the two cops, they were killed with the same technique but this time there was a note… Elisa

The inspector took the note and opened it, however, he couldn’t understand anything at all. The language was different, but also the typography. So, in order to translate it, he called his sister, who apparently was an expert in all types of languages, so she could investigate it. After one week, his sister explained him that the language used in the note was no longer alive. It was a language used by the Nabateans, a civilization that lived long ago in the south of Palestine. She also explained to him that the girl that had been murderer was one of the few people that knew that language. Right after she had finished talking, Daniel James realised his sister was in danger. The first thing he did was to come back to the police station and ask one of his coworkers to do a research about how many people knew that language, their names and addresses. Then he started to think about how could he get infiltrate in  The Thompson’s activities and which member of the family would be the devil link. After a while thinking and searching information about all of them, he knew what to do and how to do it. Laura 

He created himself a new personality and identity. He was now one of the most famous people who knew that language. He needed the Thomsons to think he was an expert, so that they try to kill him. It was very complicated, but things could go well. He followed one of the members of the family, holding a book about the nabataean civilisation. Then he made a false phone call talking about the little lecture he was giving next Saturday in the library, and assuring that he was talking loud enough so that everyone could hear him. Now he only had to think on a plan which worked successfully and avoiding his own death. Javier

His plan to trap the Thomsons was very easy and simple, but it needed to be perfectly executed or the whole operation would fail.

The plan was made out of three factors. The first factor was library guards, they needed to ensure the Thomsons didn't bring any weapons inside the lecture so they couldn't hurt anybody. The second factor was that they needed undercover cops inside the lecture so they could detain them and the last factor was the outside cover of cops so they couldn't escape from the inside. It was 11-7, the year were the Nabatean Kingdom started ruling. The lecture was advertised all over the media. The headliners were filled with the announcement that a new expert on Nabataean culture had made their appearance into the Chicago University.

Inside the university two hundred cops awaited to the appropriate instant to implement the foolproof plan. In the centre of the room, Daniel James, wearing an outfit characteristic of a distinguished historian. Nicolás Bagur 

Daniel James was very nervous at first because he didn't know if the plan was going to turn out well or badly.  His whole body was shaking because he was also armed, with a pistol that a police officer had given him. He thought that if the plan did not go well, everyone would look badly after him and disappoint all the police and political forces. Ana Baños

He took a deep breath, and, after a fifteen minute delay, the plan was started. As expected, the Thompsons did not bring any weapons with them, but the police could not confirm if their escorts were armed. The rest of the plan was going smoothly. The lecture started nothing strange seemed to be happening, until one of the escorts recognised Daniel. Carlo Cabrera

He could see him whisper something to the Thompsons, though he continued his lecture with normality as he kept his eye on them. After an hour, he called for a break, during which he went over to the bathroom. Daniel splashed his face with water and let out some shaky breaths. He was a brilliant man, but he was young and very inexperienced in combat, which he thought might be inevitable now that his identity was discovered and his plan was put at risk. As he looked down at the sink, he heard the cocking of a gun. Alexa C.

He immediately went out of the bathroom and saw a massive shooting between the  two sides, the policemen and the Thomson family, at first he didn't know how to react but it was then when he saw his friend Marcelo lying dead in the floor with a shot mark in his head, ipso factum he drew out his gun and started shooting, he was good at the firing ranges but he never had been in a situation like that before, in a matter of seconds he shot three Thompsons members in the head, unfortunately they also reached Daniel and shot him in his leg which later they had cut off. Daniel was withering in pain. He was dealing with so much pain that he didn't feel any kind of guiltiness for killing 3 members of the Thompson family. It was only a few days later when he realized what he had done. Daniel found out that the three people passed out. He was also accused of murder by the Thompson family. One member of that family shot him and made him lose his leg, that was one point in favor of the two he had. Daniel also had the proof that they knew Nabataean, that is the language in which the note that was placed next to the two murdered cops was written. Ariana

Despite the fact of knowing all of this, Daniel needed more proofs to ensure the relationship between the Thompsons and the murder of the woman. He needed someone with information, so he decided to call an old friend called Daniel Hernández, who was part of the Blood gang. He financed the gang by making trap music, his artist name was 6ix9ine. The Blood gang has been the eternal rival of the Crips, so they had a lot of people infiltrated in it. Daniel Hernández helped Daniel James by providing him very important information about the Crips and the Thompsons. José 

After several days collecting information, they started tying up dots, searching in documents from 50 years ago, investigating the ancestors of the family, the ones who created the mafia.. 

Daniel managed to get a prosthetic leg in order to kept with the investigation, however he knew that after this case, he would retire. -Hugo

Thanks to the information given by his old friend, he encountered a bigger problem than where he was already. He found that not only was there a dispute between two mafias, but that the governments of many countries were also involved. Daniel reported his investigation to the FBI and they agreed to take the case, making Daniel a new member because of his insightful intelligence. As his new Sargent said after reading his report; " the war have just started Daniel".  -Pablo 

Daniel unexpectedly rejected this offer, he was tired of that exhausting and risky job. However, before he retired he had to make sure to solve the murder of the poor woman. He knew the Thompsons were involucrated in it, and that the most probable was that they were the responsible for the letter, but he wasn't totally sure, anyway he just needed proves to injail the guilty of the murder and everything would end.

After a long time thinking Daniel had a great idea. He was going look to for all the people living in Chicago that knew Nabatean, later, one of his team members would go to their respective houses, claiming to belong to an ONG against poverty suffered by children and asking for firms. This way, the police would have the handwriting of each of the possible assassins. The last step was comparing handwriting from the note with the one of the firm and the truth would be discovered. The plan was extremely simple, but it was working perfectly. There was not a lot of people who knew this language and he was only interested in the Thompsons. However, there was something he hadn't thought about Nabatean was written with different characters, so he could not say it was a valid proof. He had to think about something else and he was running out of time, he only had two days left until the trial. By Sofía

He spended night and day thinking about what to do. But nothing was coming out of his mind, he didn't have a clue of what he should do. So he thought it was time for him to retire he was old enough to follow this type of cases , 55 years he has been working for this. Even though for the past days he wanted to retire after this murder was solved, he just didn't want to. And that's what he did. The day of the trial arrived. He was feeling so bad ,but he couldn’t take this case for more years .The case was officially closed ,then he went back to his office and started packing everything from his desk because he got retired from his job . He sold his house and bought a little house next to beach where he moved with his wife and his new born baby called Sarah  .They were ready to have a good and relaxed life.After so many years of taking care of other people’s lives , now he was ready to make sure that now was time for him to enjoy life.
