Ana Pérez: He had
been sitting still in front of the window for more than an hour. Observing the
rain drops falling from the dark clouds, listening to the loudness of the
storm, the harsh sound of the wind. Not a single vital sign came out of him,
one could think he wasn’t there. Suddenly he took a deep breath and stood up
without letting any word slip out of his mouth. Sadly it wasn’t a surprise at
all, he hasn't said anything since the funeral, and I knew today was not going
to be an exception.
Miguel de
Perosanz: He was undergoing a deep personal crisis since the tragic happenings
of the Battle of Guadalcanal, where his father, Josh Thompson III, a senior
Navy official with a long history of loyal service to America, died protecting
the Americans’ base in the Lunga River’s estuary. Since this day, he’d ever be
haunted by the memories of Edson’s Ridge, the place where the Japanese Empire
had decided to attack the Allied forces in that tragic night of September.
Gonzalo
Quintanilla: However, he was slowly recovering, but he was still having
nightmares, imagining how his father died, imagining how a Japanese man killed
not just his father, killing his father’s friends John and Robert. They had
been like his fathers too, he grew up with them, and lived with them for 4
years.
One day, after a
nightmare, he went to the bathroom , and when he was returning to his bedroom,
he saw his father, John and Robert’s ghosts.
Andrés Rodríguez:
For the first time in the last months, he uttered a word: “How?”. That was all
he said before the ghosts disappeared, leaving him without an answer. He went
completely crazy and started looking for them, leaving the house in a total
mess. After not finding anything, he took a bottle of whisky and the only clean
glass remaining at the house and started drinking. He thought he had lost his
head and started crying.
Manuel Ruiz: His
moans woke up her mother who was sad asswell for the loss of her husband. When
she entered the room she saw an image she hoped never to see, as her dad had
died an alcoholic. Linda took the bottle away from her child and started
shouting so he understood the fatality of his actions. The boy responded
angrily reproaching his mother how irresponsible of her was to let his dad go
into the battlefield. The night ended sadly with two people who were supposed
to love and support each other fighting for the same reason that was making
them so sad, death.
Elisa: The next
days silence filled out the house again, until… a few weeks later after the
first apparition, three ghosts appeared again, but this time to Linda, the
mother. Linda was shocked seeing her husband with his dear friends. A few
minutes in silence passed by, the ghosts were still there and the only thing
Lisa could said was: How is it possible? and… as soon as she pronounced the
words, the ghosts disappeared. Later Lisa went near her child to ask what he
had saw the day she caught him drinking, for the surprise of Lisa his child
said in tears: I’ve seen the ghost of dad and his friends but as soon as I said
something they disappeared.
Jacobo Serret:
Both the mother and the son waited for the father and his friends, and, after
several days, they appeared again. Instead of talking, they decided only to
watch what they were doing. Just by doing that, the ghost started to move and
to act as if they were somewhere else, they were representing what had happened
before they died. However, both the mother and the son saw couldn’t believe
what they were watching.
Laura Tapia: The
appearance of the ghosts lasted around three minutes until the mom
unconsciously started crying, and immediately her son started walking as if he
would be sleepwalking or possessed. He crossed the living room and left the
house using the back door, but like he wasn't using at home, he left the house
without shoes. One's out, the ghost of his father led him to a small and old
house near the limits of their town.
Javier Vallejo: He
opened the door quietly, and what he saw was terrifying. Robert Oppenheimer was
there reunited with a lot of people. There was a huge placard saying:
"Manhattan Project". Franklin D. Roosevelt raised from its chair and
told him to sit down. They had been waiting him for a long time, because Robert
told them that little boy should go to Hiroshima and win the war. Then a fat
man entered into the room and said that he was going to Nagasaki. Oppenheimer
started shouting saying that he wasn't referring to that, and that it was very
dangerous for them that we knew their plan, and so they decided to let us
participate in the project that would revenge his father.
The son and Linda
didn't really know if they should participate on a war, from one point of view
they wanted to take revenge because of his father's death but they also thought
that no one should feel and suffer the pain that is losing a father or a
husband as they did.
After thinking for
a few days they left their more human side apart and they decided they wanted
to take revenge for all the pain they made on their life's, the kid stepped up
and said: "We are in"
Sergio Vara
The answer they
received was nothing further from reality. Linda was not admitted in the army
because of her condition of woman. Consequently, the responsibility was placed
in the son.
He left home and
he was assigned to a military camp in Kansas. After receiving several flight
classes for two years, the 2nd August 1945 he was ready for his business. The
night before getting into the fighter, he called his mum. The conversation got
him shivering.
Nicolás Bagur
Her mother began
to tell him to think of him too and not just a person who was no longer there
with them. That if something happened to him too, she would feel guilty about
the death of her husband and son. And that if she lost him, there would be no
one left. The son began to feel fear and replied to his mother not to worry about
anything that he knew what he was doing, even though deep down he was thinking
not. Ana Baños
And, so, on a
sunny day of August, his desire for revenge for desire had lead to this, he was
crossing the Atlantic Ocean in his plane, which he named after his mom, who had
suffered ever since his father passed out. The airplane carried the Little Boy,
the result of the investigation of the Manhattan project, and, his destination
was Hiroshima, a city located in the south of Japan. The time had finally come.
Carlo Cabrera
When the aircraft
landed, all troops went into formation. They waited silently and patiently for
their commands, with the exception of the boy, who's mind was now flooded with
uncertainty. What his mother had told him was being replayed over and over
again in his head, and he realized that his hands were now shaking, that if he
died it would be those who remained alive that would suffer most.
The prize of
revenge seemed so much smaller now that he'd become aware of everything he had
to lose. He realized that the hands of the bravest of his fellow soldiers were
shaking too. Seeing everyone crack under the fear made war start to look like
nothing but scared boys pretending to be men by fighting each other with metal
that shot out of a cylinder, telling themselves these are honorable acts of
bravery. Alexa C.
Suddenly an alarm
sounded. All the soldiers ran to their aircraft. They had to take off to chase
the Japanese aircraft. Meanwhile, the boy persecuted an enemy to chase him and
saw that behind there were two enemies. He tried to dodge them. A missile
touched his aircraft. He noticed that he was losing fuel and headed towards a
forest. The aircraft collided with the high trees. The boy noticed his leg was
cut off and fell unconscious. Stefan
He later woke up
in a humble room with a bandage in his head, right shoulder, and leg, or what
remained from his leg. He didn't hear a noise for a long time but abruptly
someone knocked on the door and entered the room. He was puzzled to see that
the person that entered the room was a Japanese soldier. The soldier spoke very
basic English and transmitted to him that he was around when the aircraft
crashed and that he saved his life. The boy felt grateful and frustrated at the
same time. Ariana
The boy asked the
soldier why did he save his life, at which the soldier answered:" You are
too young for losing your life in a stupid conflict that only causes the death
of millions of people and the suffering of many families that have lost their
loved ones. Why did you decide to join your country's army?" The boy
replied: "A Japanese soldier killed my father, so I wanted to take revenge
on him. " The soldier said:"I have lost my son not long ago, It was a
horrible feeling, but I do not want to take revenge on him because no one
should ever feel like this. In reality, taking revenge only makes things worse;
If I kill an enemy's son, mine would never come back again and I would have
destroyed someone else’s life, making them to want to take revenge and
repeating this cycle over and over again. Personally I would not feel like a
hero doing this. War does not benefit any of us, what is the purpose of killing
each other while there's someone making money from it? Do you think It is worth
it? You should go home and give your Mother a hug while you still can, you are
not a coward if you just want to save your life."José
After this moment
of huge feelings, the boy decided to return home, he agreed with the words of
the “enemy” who saved his life. But how could he go home? He was in the middle
of a massive war in other country and with his only possible choice to return
home broken, the aircraft.
However, even in
the worst situations, there are always good people, and so this japanese was
one of them. He proposed the little boy to take his old and outdated plane that
was used in the last war, the one of the father’s death. This way he could got
unnoticed with the enemy troops, but the problem was the return home, it was
impossible to go back to his country with a japanese aircraft, it was a sure
death.
After a moment of
thinking, they both got the same idea, painting the plane as a merchant one. -Hugo
After a few days
spent on painting the plain with his ironic enemy, the plain was ready. They
made a plan in order to get to the boy's country, He just needed to go to the
nearest American base in Japan, as he had no leg he would be immediately sent
to America to recover from it. The problem was that almost all the air routes
were controlled by either the japanese and the americans. But there was one
left that was not controlled by anyone "the death route". This route
has not been used by anyone for years because it is the most dangerous route of
the continent. An urban legend said that whoever entered never left, it has
always been one of the biggest aviation mysteries. But there was no time to
think about it, his leg despite the fact that his "enemy" helped him
to stop the bleeding, was not going to last much longer. -Pablo
Despite the
danger, the young boy decided to go for it and the japanese soldier joined him.
They had to arrive to the other part of the island, where the American base
was. Everything was going well, they were not having any trouble, they were
even questioning why the route was called “the death route”, when something
happened… Suddenly a huge storm appeared out of nowhere and make them really
difficult to keep their way to the North. They were forced to land but there
was no land below them, as the route they were following surrounded the island
by the sea, in order to avoid getting into any war zone. They were almost in
the american base when this unexpected occurred, their propellers melted and
the plane began to plummet at a great speed, there was no option but to jump
into the sea. Isabel
They jumped into
the sea. Pieces of plane in flames were falling everywhere around them. They
started swimming following the stream as they could not see the coast, it was
their best option.
After a couple
hours swimming, they saw the coast, they were getting closer. However, they
were extremely tired, specially the boy, who had no leg. But they still tried
to swim, it was their only chance to survive. By Sofía
Finally both of
them managed to get to the coast. Before moving on they decided to rest for
some time. After 30 minutes of resting the Japanese men starting looking for
some materials to make for the young boy some crutches so he could walked
easily. While he was searching for those materials he saw a huge metal cabin
with the American flag which put " American basement Okinawa". He
runned back to where the young boy was and took him to there. By Moe
Once they were
“save” in the American basement ,they got attended by American soldier. The
little boy was in really bad conditions ,his leg had been days wound ,but he
wasn’t able to feel it anymore as they had been swimming for hours in the cold
water. When the American soldier saw them ,he thought that they could be enemy’s
,but the little boy explained him that he was also an American soldier and that
the Japanese “enemy” he was with ,saved his life . So as soon as the little boy
said that a doctor came to take the little boy to a gurney and treat his leg.By Roxana
It was not enough, and he tragically passed away at the tender age of 18. He was not afraid of death, he could only think of all the suffering his affair for revenge had brought him, but most importantly, how devastated his mom would be. He told the soldier who was with him to give a final message to his mom: “I’m sorry, this was not what dad would have wanted”. He was given a state funeral, as he had given his life for his country, in an operation that would put an end to the war, what he wanted ever since that kid saved him. Pedro Peñafiel
He woke up, strapped to a wooden chair and with his mouth covered with tape.
He then received a
severe beatdown by a group of husky, Russian men. He had been kept in captivity
for a week by that point, but he was not able to remember how on earth had he
ended up in a situation like that. The only thing he could remember was that he
used to be a policeman.
By Carlo Cabrera
A tall,
black-haired man walked into the room. He rubbed his scruffy beard as he looked
at the hostage's pitiful figure. 'Your name is Harvey Bradford,' he said as he
kneeled in front of him. The debilitated man did not look up at him. Not having
received a satisfactory reaction, the tall man got up and kicked him in the
stomach. Harvey coughed and flinched in pain, but refused to look up at his
agresor. The man, who was wearing a black trench coat, sighed before asking
him: 'Do you not want to know why you're here?'
By Alexa C.
Harvey was curious
and confused, and while he was thinking, the man spoke ' Two years ago in a
shooting that took place at Kabul, you killed a man ', he stated. The policeman
instantly remembered who he was talking about and responded: 'I did it to
save people's lives as that man was a kamikaze ' while he still refused to look
at him. The man was not pleased with what Harvey said, so he furiously answered
' He was my brother and he was following his faith, you prevented him from
being a hero'.
By Ariana Espada
Harvey instantly
realised that even at first glance those men looked russian, they were a
strange slovakian group that followed islam. The islamists came again with
another hostage, Bruno, a white slim and tall policeman, Bruno was Harvey's
office team mate, he had only been in the force since two months ago. Harvey didn't
understood why they kidnapped him as well, then the guy that talked before and
seemed to be ruling all of this said: " I think you know something you
could share with us". Harvey was intrigued and didn't mention anything. -Stefan Costea
The strange
islamist slovakian group wanted the U.S nuclear missiles launch codes in order
to perform a massive scale terrorist attack. At first Bruno refused to talk,
until they started torturing him and threatened to kill his family. Bruno knew
that a meeting between the US defense secretary and the NSA was going to take
place in a few hours and they were going to test their missiles in the desert
of Nevada. - - "The secretary has the codes in a bulletproof suitcase and
he will be in the desert of Nevada this afternoon" said Bruno to the
group. Harvey was astonished and asked Bruno how did he know all of this
information. (José Gálvez)
After a long talk
between the two mates, Bruno resulted to be a secret agent working for the
C.I.A. He was on that cover to look for information about the terrorist
group and maintain closer contact with them, but it seemed he had been
discovered.
Harvey was
surprised but he had other things to focus on, the main importance was to get
out of that small, dark and cold room. - Hugo
After two hours, a
man entered the room to give them food, but what he did not know is that Bruno
had managed to untie himself thanks to the fact that his hand had been cut off
during torture. Bruno hit the man and suffocate him with his ass, a tactic he
learned in the CIA, they managed to escape from that terrifying prison, but
they needed to get there before their enemies did. -By pablo
Bruno and Harvey
had a long way to go. After leaving the room they found an exit through the
back door, where just one of the islamists was watching. Bruno came first and
distracted him while Harvey appeared from the back and hit him on the head.
Both of them ran away and took a motorcycle that was parked at the front door,
in that moment one of the husky, russian men saw them. He immediately warned
the rest of the group and in less than five seconds Bruno and Harvey had seven
men following them full of guns. By Isabel
Harvey was driving
and he accelerated as much as he could, but they were hot on their heels. They
were about to reach the door, only 20 metres apart from it. They were going to
get out out that place and they had left behind the men who were after them. But
suddenly, the doors started closing, Harvey did not know if they were going to
be able to cross before they close. He stepped on the gas, but the motorcycle
was already going as fast as it could. By Sofía
Only 10
meters more and they will be out, but the gates were closing very fast. Finally
they managed to go through the gates. Harvey started screaming of happiness
"look Bruno we did it!!". Bruno was also happy but he was not
answering,Harvey realised he was not feeling okey and decided to stop. When they
stopped Bruno started getting dizzy, Harvey grabbed him and saw he was bleeding
from his abdominals. By Moe
In the motorcycle there was a first aid kit, as fast
as he could Harvey ripped Bruno’s shirt off to stop the blood with a
turnstile , so he didn't die until they get to the hospital . Once they get to
the hospital and he gets help for Bruno , goes back running to the motorcycle .
Even without Bruno , Harvey has to get to the desert before the enemies ,so he
gets on the road and speeding up as fast as he can.
30 minutes later he arrived to the Nevada desert.By Roxana
Although his loyal friend was facing death, Harvey had
a mission to accomplish, he needed to make sure that none of the islamist got
to the desert, as they could get hold of the nuclear codes. Harvey travelled
down the around at about 150 miles per hour. He had the impression that two
blacks vans were following him, and that was indeed the case. By that he knew
the islamists were on there way to the desert, so the only thing he could do
was to delay there arrival until the tests had finished. By Pedro
Harvey decided to take another road, a longer one, at
that point he didn't know that those Russians knew how to get there. So he
turned right, but they followed the shorter route. He definitely committed a
mistake, but it wasn't a good moment to cry about it. He drove as fast as he
could to the nearest gas station to ask for a phone. By Ana Pérez
It was a long ride, but finally, he got to a gas
station, and dialed 911. Two policemen immediately came to help him, but the
terrorists were getting dangerously closer. Harvey decided to take another
detour, and finally he could meet the agents at a small town called Amargura.
But he would not be free from persecutions for at least some time. Three days
later, Harvey shot two Jihadists in his ranch in Texas. By Miguel
Harvey decided to take a break, and to rest for one
week. But the jihadists knew that he was staying at home for one week, so they
planned an attack.
They planned to kidnap him while he was sleeping, but
what they did not know was that he had some cameras and a bodyguard called Fran
which had some weapons, and worked as a military at the Vietnam war.. By Gonzalo
At 00:00, the jihadists entered in Harvey’s property.
They thought it was going to be as easy as the first time they kidnapped him,
but Fran appeared with a M16 in each hand shooting everywhere while shouting
“Fucking Communists”. Harvey woke up in that moment but he wasn’t scared as he
knew Fran’s skills. Five minutes later, someone entered to Harvey’s room. he
thought it was Fran, so asked him: “Did you have fun?”. A voice with Russian
accent answered: “Yes, that guy was a good opponent”. Harvey turned to see who
was that voice. He was shocked. It was Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC champion. By Andrés
Harvey drew a handgun he had prepared and just shot
the man in the head.
Six months later, Harvey had moved to LA and was a
police chief there. everything was perfect, until one day he received a call to
his house phone. Some russian character was in the other side. he said something
along the lines of ¨we know where you live and we want to just end your life¨.Manuel Ruiz
After those words, the russian hung up leaving Harvey
without a chance to say something. Harvey stayed in silence, shocked about what
had just happened. After a long time thinking what to do, he decided to call
his dear friend Bruno, who was now working again, but this time he was the
chief of the FBI group who was in charge of looking for potential terrorist or
bands that could cause any damage to the US citizens. Harvey knew that was the
best decision to make. Elisa
However, he couldn't contact him. Everytime Harvey
called Bruno, he hanged him up. Harvey started to get stressed, he didn't know
what to do next. He strongly believed that Bruno would have helped him, but
Harvey didn't imagine that this would have happened. After several hours in
panic, he realised he had been in worse situations so he decided to use his
power as police chief and mobilize all his department in order to look for
them. Jacobo
But...there was a big problem about it, they knew
where he was but he had no clue about the location of the russian
terrorist.
He went to “his” police office and command his best
officers and those specialized in terrorist attacks to be ready for a meeting
in 5 minutes. Before explaining what was happening he told them that they could
refuse the mission, but if they chose that option they should say it before the
details were revealed.
Just a few were gone, and he started explaining his
plan. He didn't knew where the Russian terrorists were, but anyway they were
going to his house to kill him at any moment. That meant that they knew the
future location of the vodka-drinkers. Using a bait who was going to replace
Harvey, they will surprise the Soviets with a lot of police aid and finally
destroy them. But no one wanted to be the bait, until the doors opened and
someone said "I will". It was Bruno. Javier Vallejo
It was a surprise for everyone to see Bruno there
because the only person that knew him was Harvey. After Harvey introduced him
to the rest of the police officer's they were all amazed by the crazy
adventures Harvey has in the past and from that point they listened more to him
because he was an expert in this cases. After all the emotive moment they
followed the plan. They called all the units close to that zone and they all
went straight to Harvey's house. Sergio Vara
Bruno would pretend to be Harvey and all the cops
would be waiting hidden under the bed, inside the cupboards,in the shower. The
house was repleted of policemen each of them armed with two GLOCKS. Nothing
could go wrong.
Whilst they were preparing the mission, Harvey
received a message:
. ... - .- / -. --- -.-. .... . / .- / .-.. .-
... / ----. .-.-..
Bruno, an expert in Language systems recognized Morse,
and ge translated it. Tonight 9.
The night arrived, and the GLOCKS were loaded. Bruno,
in Harvey´s bed, and Harvey at the office, following the plan via surveillance
cameras. 9’ o’ clock. Someone knocked on the door, it was a postman saying. I
have a gift for you. Nicolás Bagur
Bruno got up to open the door. He was obviously a Russian dressed as a postman, Bruno looked him up and down and saw a pistol. He closed the door immediately, signaled for all the police to came out, and after 3 seconds the Russians threw down the front door and started a shootout. The Russians were more than them, but they still won. They managed not to kill any of their side but all the Russians. The next day they celebrated it with a few beers, and Russian vodka in a bar. ResponderEliminarWhat I most like about this story is how things are described with so many details , that you are able to recreate the scene in your head. The end of the story is not my favouriye,i found it very repetitive and similar to other stories ,not really original.
